Founded as the Nashville Bible School, Lipscomb University embodied the ideals of David Lipscomb and James A. Harding: Christ-centered scholarship, congregational service, and accessible education. Lipscomb used the pages of the Gospel Advocate to rally support for the school and to articulate a vision of discipleship that integrated study, worship, and daily vocation.
Today the university remains a hub for Churches of Christ in the Southeast, hosting lectureships, missions training, and ministries that extend Lipscomb’s call for a kingdom-focused life.
